Ketur Test Reagent Strips

Ketur Test Reagent Strips Ketur Test Reagent Strips are for the qualitative determination of ketone bodies in urine. For patients with diabetes, self-monitoring of ketones in the urine together with self-monitoring of glucose supplements the tests performed by your physician, gives you greater everyday certainty, and makes it easier for you and your physician to assess your diabetic control.

Ketones (acetoacetate, acetone) occur in the urine as a result of increased breakdown of body fat in weight reduction dieting or as a result of poor glucose utilization due to insulin deficiency. In weight reduction dieting the presence of ketones is a sign of success. Ketones and simultaneous increased blood (above 250 mg/dl or 14 mmol/l) or urinary glucose values in diabetic patients, on the other hand, point to insulin deficiency. If this is the case, see your doctor.

Safety /Warning

  • Read for directions on packaging details and labels before use.
  • Note: Please read labels and follow the instructions .
  • Users should be aware of the normal fluctuations in levels measured and should receive adequate training from an appropriate practitioner prior to use. Please note: Only use well-rinsed, clean containers for specimen collection. Close the test strip container again immediately after removal of a test strip.
  • Test strips which have been spoilt by exposure to humidity can be recognised by a dark discoloration of the test area on the unused strip. Such test strips should no longer be used. Store the pack at between +2 and +30¦C. When stored in the original container the test strips are stable up to the date printed on the pack and the label.

    Directions

  • Directions: Collect a urine specimen in a clean, well-rinsed container.
  • Take a test strip from the tube and close again immediately. Press the stopper on again firmly to make sure that the container is properly closed.
  • Briefly (no longer than 1 second) immerse the test strip in the urine.
  • When removing the strip, wipe the edge against the rim of the specimen container to remove excess urine.
  • Wait one minute, then read the ketone test zone. Colour changes which only appear along the edges of the test areas or after more than 2 minutes are not diagnostically relevant. The test strip may also be held directly in the urine stream and the excess urine shaken off.
